Hello dear friends
You're back again and let me say
That I am glad
For while away
I spent each day
Slowly going mad.
I hear that some of you had gone away
And spent a few months out of town
Seeing flashy broadway shows
And acting like a clown.
While the rest of us just went to work
Or stayed at home, sick in our beds
Taking pills that get no thrills
Hoping to fix-
Fix our heads...
Sometimes I feel
So stuck at work
When I hear the city bells chime
I feel that I should live the life I want
'Cos we live on borrowed time
And now dear friends
Let's raise a toast
To the ones no longer here.
The times we shared both good and bad
Have long since dis-
Disappeared...
